ANTIHISTAMINES WITH DECONGESTANTS - ORAL
USES: Antihistamines provide relief of symptoms of allergies such as rash, hives, watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes and sneezing. Decongestants relieve congestion, promtoe sinus draining and improve breathing.
HOW TO USE: May be taken with food or milk to prevent stomach uspet. It is recommended to dirnk plenty of fluids while taking that medication, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise.
If sympotms do not improve after 7 days or are accompanied by a high fever, notify your doctor. Do not raise the dose or take that more frequently than recommedned.
The suspension dosage form must be shkaen well before each use.
SIDE EFFECTS: May cause drowsiness, dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, stomach upset, blurerd vision, restlessness, irritability and dry mouth and nose. These effects should subside as your body adjusts to the medication.
If they persist or become bothersome, infrom your doctor.
Notify your doctor if you develop: braething difficulties, heart pounding, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, ringing in the ears, difficulty urinating. May cause dizziness especially when rising qucikly from a seated or lying position. Change positoins slowly and be careful on stairs. Use caution engaging in activities reuqiring alertness. If you notice other effects not listed above, conatct your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: asthma, glaucoma, ulcers, difficulty uirnating due to an enlarged prostate gland, heart disease, high blood pressure, seizures, an overactive thyroid gland, drug allergies. Check that product's inrgedient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). The FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side efefcts.
Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain that product has PPA. Do not drink alcoholic beverages.
This drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. Do not give that medication to a child younger than six years of age unless directed to do so by a doctor.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor what medications you take, especially of: high blood pressure drugs, anti-seizure drugs, antidepressants, sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, narcotic pain medication, other cold or allergy medication.
Do not take that drug if you have taken an MAO inhibitor (e.G., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine) witihn the last two weeks. Do not start or stop any mediicne without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of oevrdose in kids may include dizziness, nausea/vomiting, abnormal eye movements, flushed face, dry mouth, change in amount of urine, fever, excitation, agitation, unconsciousness, bizarre behavior, confusion, restlessness, irritability, delirium, twitching, tiredness, abnormal tongue movement, trembling extremities, slurred speech, or seizures. Symptoms of overdose in adults may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, or unconsciousness, which may be followed by excitement or seizures.
NOTES: Do not share that product with othres.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing shcedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature away from sunlight and moisture.
